It's my personal project that I had in my mind for a long time.
In this blog I want to collect and order the recipes of the dishes and desserts which I am used to cook time after time.
Normally I write down the recipes on peaces of paper that could be easily lost in the immensity of my folders. I have seen these recipes on tv or in some blogs or in a magazine and I found it interesting, but as I'm a disaster in ordering things of course then it takes me an eternity to find what I'm looking for. With this blog I intend to solve this problem¡
I'm from Barcelona, Spain. I speak spanish but with this blog I also hope to improve my english, if I make mistakes I hope you can forgive me.
I'm going to add my favorite recipes and then all the new ones that I´m going to test and that are worth cooking.
The work I have (as I suppose the majority of people) is not in tune with what I really like doing, but according to the economic situation we should thank for it....
My passion is cooking, I enjoy when my family or good friends come to my house for lunch and I have to investigate the menu I am going to offer them.
Then there is a reward of seeing that the result is what you were expecting for or a disappoitment because what you intended to do finally is like we say in Spain "an egg resembles a chestnut¡¡¡"
Cooking is not an exact science so if you don´t try you´ll never know¡¡¡
The name of the blog appeared this summer in Sant Antoni de Calonge, a town in Costa Brava. On holidays we were trying to disconnect and remove my stress so we stopped at a restaurant on the beach called La Mar Serena = The Serene sea.
When I see the name of my blog I think " this is my goal" I want to be " LA MAR DE SERENA" = THE SEA OF SERENE ¡¡¡
It´s an expression in Spanish that means calmness and serenity....

We took this photo in 2006 in El Peinte de los Vientos, it was the last time we visited Donosti (a town in the north of Spain).
I love the Vasc Country and its cooking and I know that I will go back there soon.
The Cantabrian Sea it's not a serene sea, but it brings me serenity................
